Most breakup advice
just says "move on."
The story isn't over. It's being mended.

Kintz turns heartbreak into a daily practice, the way kintsugi mends broken pottery with gold. Check in, journal, talk to Heart Buddy, and watch your own healing take shape over time.

Healing Journey Assessment

Understand where you are in your healing journey

01

Ethos

Healing is never just about "getting over it." It's about understanding yourself.

Kintz takes its name from kintsugi (金継ぎ), the Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer so the repair becomes part of the piece's history instead of something to hide. Heartbreak works the same way: the goal isn't to erase what happened. It's to become someone steadier because of how you healed.

Every check-in feeds a weekly assessment across the 7 stages of grief, so instead of guessing whether you're healing, you can actually watch it move.

Method
Kintsugi philosophy + guided self-reflection
Focus
Processing, not performing "over it"
Built for
Healing from a breakup, supporting someone who is, or navigating single life
Outcome
A steadier, more honest version of you

The Real Struggle

You already know you'll be fine eventually. That was never the hard part.

The hard part is the state you're in at 11pm. Kintz makes these patterns visible, one at a time.

01

Rereading old texts

Scrolling the same conversation for the hundredth time, hoping it reads differently this time.

02

Checking their socials

Watching for a sign they're doing worse than you, or better, which somehow hurts more.

03

The 2am message

Reaching out when your guard is lowest, not when you're clearest.

04

Rewriting the ending

Editing the story until you're either the hero or the villain, never just a person.

05

Rebound as reset

Replacing the feeling instead of actually moving through it.

06

Performing "fine"

Telling everyone you're okay so consistently that you stop checking if it's true.

03

The System

One app. Four ways to heal.

Four parts, each feeding the next.

Today

Why do I still feel so anxious when he doesn't text back?

13:07

That anxious pull is your brain waiting for closure it didn't get — it's not a sign something's wrong with you. Try putting your phone down for the next hour and doing one small thing just for you. The urge to check usually passes faster than it feels right now.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is Kintz?

Kintz is a breakup-recovery app built around daily check-ins, guided journaling, an AI companion called Heart Buddy, a weekly assessment across the 7 stages of grief, and an anonymous community.

How does the 7-stages assessment work?

Each week, a short assessment scores all 7 stages of grief (Denial, Pain & Guilt, Anger & Bargaining, Depression & Reflection, The Upward Turn, Reconstruction & Work, and Acceptance & Hope) and tells you your exact current stage. Your Journey tab tracks that over time, so you can see real movement even on weeks that don't feel like progress, plus tasks suited to that stage to help you move forward.

Who is Heart Buddy?

Heart Buddy is the AI companion inside Kintz. It reads your check-ins and journal entries to reflect patterns back to you, without judgment. Heart Buddy is not a therapist and not a crisis service.

Can I use Kintz anonymously?

Yes. Use a display name in the community and share only what you're comfortable sharing. Journal entries and mood data stay private by default.

Is Kintz a replacement for therapy?

No. Kintz is a self-reflection and support tool, not a medical or mental-health service. If you're dealing with a mental-health crisis, please contact a licensed professional or a crisis line in your area.

When can I download Kintz?

Kintz is available now on Google Play. An iPhone version is coming soon to the App Store. Join our newsletter above for product updates and new healing resources.
